More Information
The ideal sword for high lords everywhere. In the colour symbolism of the Middle Ages, blue stood for authority, order, and closeness to God. A sword with blue embellishment signified a high rank and Christian ideology – a sword with blue embellishment would have been perfect for a high-ranking member of the clergy.

The English bastard sword features a blue grip wrapped in blue, and has a blue scabbard and sword belt. A cross etched into the solid pommel reinforces the religious look and feel of this edged weapon. The grip is laced with golden leather held in place by golden tacks to add a fabulously decorative touch – and allow you to grip the sword more tightly.

Made of tempered carbon steel, the blade is long and narrow, and requires neither a fuller or a ricasso. When combined with a classical, upwardly curved crossguard (type 9 in the Oakeshott classification), its blade shape makes this English bastard sword an outstanding example of a knightly sword from the late Middle Ages. At this time, the development away from a cutting weapon to a thrusting weapon was in full swing.

The sword belt and scabbard are made of sturdy leather in blue. The scabbard's mount and chape are made of metal and shaped like Gothic arches with gold accents.
